New Infographic Reveals Distracted Driving as the #1 Teen Killer in America
Salt Lake City, Utah July 1, 2011—The Christensen Law Firm, a Utah based personal injury firm, has released startling statistics about America’s distracted driving habits in a new infographic, data displayed in visual format.
Concerned by the number of preventable automobile fatalities in Utah, the Christensen Law Firm released the infographic in an effort to discourage distracted driving and help people see the consequences of their choices. The statistics contained in the infographic are arranged according to the numbers on a telephone revealing shocking information such as the fact that distracted driving is the #1 killer of American teens and that 18% of all fatal accidents are caused by cell phone use. Not to mention the fact that 1 in 4 Americans admit to downloading cell phone applications and using them while driving. These numbers represent and epidemic that must be confronted.
To put the seriousness of this problem in perspective the Christensen Law Firm shows that cell phone use is as detrimental to driving ability as the blood alcohol limit of .08 %. The info graphic also shows how seriously the country isn’t taking this problem. A map indicates States with and without laws against it, tragically 1/3 of the country is doing little to combat this problem.
